Dave Fettman owned and operated Davies for almost 40 years. To say he was devoted to the Canton community is an understatement. Mere words cannot express the man. In April, 2002 Dave Fettman accepted the Bowl of Hygeia Award. The recipient of the award is selected by the pharmaceutical association in his or her state for having an outstanding record of community service and leadership in their province. The Plaque reads:
DAVE FETTMAN - b. 1937 in Columbus, OH; grad. Of Lehman H.S. and Univ. of Toledo; US Army veteran and owner/operator of Davies Pharmacy for 40 years; active member of B'nai B'rith and Canton Rotary, receiving the Paul Harris Fellow Award three times; also active in the Canton Chamber of Commerce, Masons, and Shriners; board member of NOVA; Chairman of Israel Bonds; a beloved, caring and giving humanitarian whose unselfish efforts and devotion improved the quality of life for the residents of the greater Canton community; d. 2002
All who knew him truly loved him. Dave passed away August 6, 2002. The values and philosophies he instilled into everyone at Davies will carry on.
